Education

Was born in Mandalgobi city, Mongolia in December 31, 1976. While being attracted by the classical music from the childhood he studied Buddhist philosophy and Eastern God’s Painting. He had a wish to enter to musical school but his parents did not allow him. This made him to be more interested in music so that he was spending all his free time to develop himself. Sooner, he entered to school of painting but found no match between Eastern God’s Painting and Western classical music. However, he was studying eastern philosophy, his admiration to the classical music was increasing. Thus, he was inspired to create. At that time he wanted to be a composer but respecting the wish of his parents he became a painter. After studying Eastern classical realist paintings he realized that drawing and composing are two expressions of one thing. Mergen was in firm belief that his father Baidi will support him when he showed his first paintings in May 1994. But Baidi said he can not reach any success if he follows realistic direction of painting. He was encouraged by these words so that the quality of his paintings was improving day by day. Baidi prized works of his son and inspired him for new achievements. If in June 1994, his father said that Mergen is drawing in the level of graduate student of domestic art university, in July of the same year before leaving on a mission, he said that his son is drawing on the level of graduate student of foreign university. After one month when he came back, Baidi told to his son that he became a painter, however, to be a good painter he must not only create good paintings but learn to be a painter. Besides keeping in mind the words of his father, B. Mergen never left his dream to become a composer by absorbing his feeling in paintings.
